Thank you to Christie from 1000 Places and Memories and Allan from PhotoBlography3 for nominating us for the Travel Challenge. The challenge is to post a favourite travel picture for 10 days, without explanation and then nominate someone else to participate. We probably won’t make 10 days, and you may have already seen the pictures since they will already have been in a blog post, but here it goes.
We nominate fellow mountain lover Diana from Handstands Around the World. If you’re not interested in joining the challenge, that’s fine, we know it’s a busy time of year. If you do join, please link to us so we don’t miss your pictures!

I watched Seven Years in Tibet last night and swear that this building was featured as the Forbidden City of Lhasa!

What a massive complex. I see it’s in Tibet. What is it?

It’s Potala Palace, where the Dalai Lama is supposed to live, if he ever is able to return to Tibet.

I haven’t been here. Potala palace?

Yes! If you want to see Tibet, go soon. It is quickly loosing its charm to large modern office and apartment buildings.

When I look at your picture, my eye is drawn my the magnificent building.
But when I look at its reflection in the lake, I see what matters (most?) – the old, all-knowing trees 🙂
I love this contrast!
