Parasnath Hills is an important pilgrimage site for Jains. There is a steep 9 km hike to the top and a 9 km circuit that takes you to each of the 24 shrines. Many pilgrims hire a doli to carry them for the day. It's very hard work for the doli carrieres as the 27km day has many ups and downs. Jainism is an ancient religion founded in India. This Jain temple in Madhuban has statues of the 24 Jain teachers in small egg-like shrines. Madhuban is close to a sacred pilgrimage site on Parasnath Hill.
